The Osun State Government has commenced the recruitment of teachers into the state public basic and Post-Basic schools.
This development, according to information made available to EduCeleb.com would attract about 2500 additional teachers in classrooms across the state.
Unlike many other employment exercises in recent times, the government expects each job seeker to pay N3500 as part of the application process.
A statement signed by the permanent secretary of the Osun State Ministry of Education, S. F. Olajide said the state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola approved-in-council the immediate recruitment of teachers into public basic and Post-Basic schools in the state.
“Consequent upon this, the state’s Ministry of Education hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill existing vacancies,” the statement read.
Qualified persons who could teach any of English Language, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences are invited to apply.
Each applicant is expected to possess the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by either West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the Teachers’ Grade II Certificate any of which was obtained in not more than two sittings.
An additional qualification in form of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), a Degree in Education with relevant teaching subjects or Basic Degree with a postgraduate diploma (PGD) in education or Higher National Diploma with a PGD.
Possessing a Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certificate will be an added advantage.
Any additional relevant qualifications would also count.
While applying, a candidate must also possess a recent passport photograph, a functional mobile phone line, a functional email address, a local government certificate of origin, a birth certificate, attestation from two referees and a means of identification.
Interested Candidates are to register online via http://osun.csm.ng after a log in pin which costs N3500 has been purchased from the Ministry of Education, State Secretariat, Osogbo.
Registration of candidates will close in a month’s time.
