Nigerian achieves world record for longest marathon reading aloud

A Nigerian, Ajao Samson, originally from Osun, has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records (GWR) for achieving the longest marathon reading aloud.

Ajao announced his achievement on his Facebook page on Friday, expressing his excitement and gratitude.

He shared, “I am deeply grateful to God, my family, friends, and my tireless team for turning this dream into reality. I am thrilled to hold the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon reading aloud and to advocate for literacy development.”

In May 2024, Ajao, a native of Iwo and former student union president at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, set out to break the record with a 214-hour reading marathon.
