The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially commenced its coordination and marking exercise for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates. The exercise, which begins on Monday, 19th August 2024, is set to run through to Sunday, 8th September 2024.
According to the programme of events obtained by EduCeleb.com, NECO officials are departing for marking venues across Nigeria on Monday, followed by venue preparation, sorting, and reconciliation of exam materials on Tuesday, 20th August 2024.
The main activities include an Examiners’ Audit scheduled for Wednesday, 21st August 2024, and the continuation of the audit on Thursday, 22nd August 2024.
The official opening ceremony is set for Friday, 23rd August 2024, featuring an address by the Registrar, followed by a plenary session and coordination exercise.
The coordination will continue on Saturday, 24th August 2024, with the distribution of parcels and submission of claim forms.
From Sunday, 25th August to Saturday, 7th September 2024, daily marking, vetting, checking, and recording activities will take place. This period will also involve shading of scores, cross-checking, submission of EMS/dummies to ICT staff, winding up, cleaning, and closure of the venue.
The exercise will conclude with the departure of officials from the marking venues on Sunday, 8th September 2024.
This coordination and marking exercise is a crucial part of the examination process, ensuring that all candidates’ results are accurately and fairly assessed before they are released.
