The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has expressed immense pride as Nigeria secured second place at the Grand Finale of the Al-Fourqane International Qur’an Competition held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The host country, Cote d’Ivoire, claimed the first position, while Mali took third place.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the outstanding performance of AbdulQodri Atukale, a 300-level student from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, who represented Nigeria at the competition.

The Amir (President) of MSSN Lagos State Area Unit, Kamoldeen Abiona, who led the Nigerian contingent to Abidjan, expressed his delight at the success.

He highlighted that the accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, skill, and unwavering commitment of MSSN members to the Holy Qur’an.

“We’re excited about this achievement. As we celebrate this victory, we promise that MSSN Lagos will strive for even greater success in future international Qur’an competitions,” Abiona stated.

The MSSN Lagos Area Unit’s strong showing at the competition underscores the society’s commitment to excellence in Qur’anic scholarship and its ability to compete on an international stage.
