Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has reiterated the commitment of his government in giving education desired support and assistance.
The Governor was speaking during the occasion of Katsina State Education Summit for the year 2020 held at the conference hall of Local Government Service Commission.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Mannir Yakubu said the meeting was jointly organised between the State Government and Ideal Consult Management Expert.
Mannir Yakubu maintained that the State Government have committed a lot of resources since the inception of this administration from 2015 to date.
He explained that education sector has witnessed holistic revolution in the areas of infrastructure development, staff employment, capacity building of teaching and non teaching aimed at facing the modern day system in schools.
In the Basic Education Sub Sector this administration under the dynamic leadership of Aminu Bello Masari has construct and rehabilitate over 2,294 classrooms, 1334 offices and store were renovated.
There is also the Upgrading of 12 primary schools in to storey building .
Also 930 toilets were constructed in verious primary schools across the state aimed at improving sanitary condition of both pupils and teachers. This is in addition to drilling of 70 boreholes in some primary schools in the state.
According to the Deputy Governor, there was the establishment and construction of 7 new Secondary Schools in State. This is in addition to rehabilitation of 38 secondary school and partly renovation of 37 schools due to storm damages and delapidations.
In the area of Tertiary education, the State Government has succefully establish and construct faculties of Agriculture and Law at Umar Musa Yaradua University and the construction of Mosque and wall fencing.
There is another construction of Students female hostel and Laboratories at Isah Kaita College Of Education Dutsinma. This in addition to construction of road network and rehabilitation of Student hostel at Dr. Yusufu Bala Usman College, Daura.
On man power development there is the employment of academic and non academic staff in the tertiary institutions.
There is also also the recruitment of 4256 teachers in Primary and Secondary school aimed at enhancing teaching and learning in the state. This is in addition to the recruitment of 7000 SPower staff in the State.
The Deputy Governor mentioned that the state government has given much attention in the payment of WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS and Scholarship payment to its indigine studying various acceredated courses in higher institutions of learning within and outside the country.
This has lead in recording tramendious success in admission, enrolment, retention, transition, completion and scoring flying colours result at the end of the students examination.
He call on all concern to put there hands on deck on moving education in particular and the state in general to the next level.
