The Lagos State Government has opened the recruitment of teachers into public primary and secondary schools.
This is coming over nine weeks after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu promised that the government would be recruiting around 15000 teachers to reduce the teacher deficit in its schools.
Information EduCeleb.com obtained from the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LSUBEB) and the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) on Friday stated that the recruitment exercise would commence on Monday, 11th November and end on Monday, 18th November, 2019 and Wednesday, 13th November and 20th November, 2019 respectively.
In order to apply, an applicant is expected to possess at least a teaching qualification in the forms of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) or a Bachelor’s degree in education.
That is in addition to a teaching licence issued by the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Among other things, they must possess at least credit passes in their Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in five subjects including English and Mathematics.
The government also expects them to have their first school leaving certificates, an NYSC discharge certificate where applicable, a birth certificate, a Lagos State Residents’ Registration (LASRRA) number and a testimonial of good conduct from either their last employer or last school attended.
EduCeleb.com gathered that the recruitment process is to be done online via subebjobs.lagosstate.gov.ng for primary school jobs and tescomjobs.lagosstate.gov.ng for secondary school jobs.
