Kwara SUBEB shortlists 1811 for employment

The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the shortlisting of 1,811 applicants for employment following a rigorous recruitment process involving 55,713 applicants across the state.

A statement released by the Press Secretary of KWSUBEB, Atere Aminat Abiola, revealed that the successful candidates include 1,500 teachers, with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects, and 311 non-teaching staff. The non-teaching positions comprise drivers, security guards, and office assistants for schools across the state’s 16 local government areas.

According to the statement, successful applicants have been contacted via valid phone numbers to collect their appointment letters. Documentation commenced on Monday, January 6, for candidates from Kwara North, followed by those from Kwara South on January 7, and Kwara Central on January 8.

Documentation Requirements
The KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, outlined the necessary documents for the process, including:

  • Original and two photocopies of all credentials
  • Two file jackets and tags
  • Citizenship certificate
  • Two passport photographs
  • Bond signing and biodata form completion

Focus on Rural Areas


Prof. Adaramaja emphasized that the recruitment process prioritized candidates willing to remain in their assigned areas.

“We sought nominations of competent and qualified individuals from rural communities to bridge the manpower gap in hinterland schools,” he stated.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of education across the state and ensure that underserved areas have access to competent teaching and support staff.
