The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has started releasing results of candidates who wrote the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

EduCeleb.com recalls that the UTME began on Friday, March 9 and about 1.6 million candidates are writing the Computer-Based exam billed to be completed on March 17th.

The Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede had at a press conference prior to the commencement last Wednesday said that the results wouldn’t be immediately released unlike it happened in 2017.

Professor Oloyede said it was to reduce cases of results cancellation.

In his words, “We want to monitor everything that happens through our CCT cameras. Last year, we proved a point that there is nothing extraordinary in the immediate release of results but we had to cancel some results when we found out what happened in some centres.

“So, if we have to take two or three days to look at the conduct of the candidates before releasing the result so as to minimise cancellation, then we will do so.”

Each candidate could check their result from the third day after they wrote it.
