
Federal Government College (FGC) Ikot Ekpene Old Students Association (OSA) has emerged overall winner of the 2025 USOSA Sports Carnival held in Port Harcourt, topping the final medals table with an impressive haul of 15 medals.
According to the official medal tally, FGC Ikot Ekpene clinched 8 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals, placing them first ahead of 35 other participating Unity Schools across the country.
FGC Ogbomoso OSA followed in second position with 4 gold and 3 silver medals, while FGGC Ijebu Ode (IOI OGA) secured third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
FGC Ikom and FGC Port Harcourt rounded off the top five with 3 gold medals each, although FGC PH OSA collected more total medals (8) but ranked 5th based on the gold medal count.
Other notable performers include King’s College OBA in 6th position with 2 golds, while FGC New Bussa, FGC Ibilo, FGC Maiduguri, and FGGC Calabar each ended with 2 golds, placing them jointly at 7th and 8th spots.
Despite spirited efforts from several schools, a total of 15 schools—including prestigious institutions like Queen’s College, FGGC Owerri, and FGC Kano—finished without a single medal.
The carnival, hosted by the Unity Schools Old Students Association (USOSA), is an annual gathering designed to foster camaraderie and celebrate athletic excellence among alumni of Nigeria’s Federal Unity Colleges.
Organisers commended the high level of participation, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the games and affirmed plans to make subsequent editions even more inclusive and impactful.
FGC Ikot Ekpene’s commanding performance this year sets a high benchmark for future editions of the event.
