Civic tech platform @TrackaNG has raised alarm over the dire learning conditions faced by pupils in Tukuruwa community, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where over 240 children have been learning under dilapidated structures with no roofs, furniture, or instructional materials for two years.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), TrackaNG called on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Kwali Council Chairman, Hon. Danladi Chiya, to urgently intervene.
“Imagine sitting under open roofs and on the bare floor, exposed to the harsh weather, just to learn?” the post read.
The group noted that the nearest alternative school is 10 kilometers away, forcing parents to either keep their children at home or endure the poor conditions of the only available ‘school’.

The community head, according to the report, said that repeated appeals to local representatives have yielded no response.
“We implore your office and @NigEducation to facilitate the construction of primary and secondary schools in Tukuruwa community,” TrackaNG added.
The call comes amid growing concerns about educational inequality in rural and underserved parts of Nigeria, even within the nation’s capital territory.
