Ekiti begins teachers’ recruitment and is charging N1000 for that

The Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission has announced the commencement of a teacher recruitment exercise. It, however, said the exercise would cost each candidate N1000 to write the screening examination.

It is that was part of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s desire to develop the state Education sector and “as contained in his electioneering campaign promises.”

In the exercise, both Teaching and Non-Teaching staff would be recruited to fill all the existing vacancies in the state public secondary schools.


Application forms will be available online from Monday 23rd September, 2019.

“Interested applicants should note that they are required to pay an examination fee of N1,000 only to complete the process,” a publication made available to EduCeleb.com read.

“Only holders of the National Certificate of Education (NCE) and University Degrees in Education In subjects taught in Secondary Schools are qualified to apply.”

www.ekitistate.gov.ng/jobs to access the forms and other relevant information about the recruitment exercise.


Completed forms should be submitted online between Monday 23rd September, 2019 and Monday 7th October, 2019.

Applicants must print the acknowledgment slip on the last page of their forms which will serve as their entry pass during the qualifying examination to hold at a later date.

All suitably qualified candidates must possess a teaching qualifications. This may be any of a minimum of the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) or a University Degree in Education combined with a teaching subject such as BED, BSC.ED, BA.ED or BSC or BA (SingleHonour), or with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education combined with or in a Teaching Subject.

Teaching subjects being considered are across subjects. The ones mentioned particularly include Basic Science, Social Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematic, Economics, Geography etc or Art Subject such as English, Fine-Art, Yoruba, CRK, History, Political Science, and French.
