Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has appointed the son of Muslim scholar, Dahiru Bauchi, Abubakar Dahiru as chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Dr Dahiru, a university teacher at the Ahmadu Bello University, is a clinical pathologist.
According to a press release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Sabiu Baba, the governor also approved the appointment of Alhaji Yakubu Barau Ningi and Zakari Ibrahim Muhammad as permanent commissioners on the board.
Other appointees on the board are Yusuf Abdullahi Itas, Abbas Waziri and Mrs Comfort Audu.
The SSG noted that the appointments are with immediate effect.
