AAU appoints Ehiakkhamen as acting registrar

Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has appointed Mr. Eddy Ehiakkhamen as an Acting Registrar, of the Edo state-owned institution.

Eddy Ehiakkhamen replaced Mr Chris Adamaigbo who recently completed his tenure of office.

Mr Chris Adamaigbo, serve as substantive Registrar of the University which tenure came to an end on Tuesday April 27, 2021.

There was conflicting report earlier that the two deputy registrars, Mr. Eddy Ehiakkhamen, and Barr. Ify Nwabudike were laying claim of being appointed as acting Registrar of the University.

According to the report, the two persons, Eddy Ehiakkhamen and Ify Nwabudike were in possession of letters of appointment claiming to have been appointed by the school.

Both letters were alleged to have been issued from two different power blocs of the University Administration.

It was gathered that the letter of appointment issued to Mr. Eddy Ehiakkhamen, was signed by the outgoing, now immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ignatius Onimawo, while the outgoing Registrar, Mr. Chris Adamaigbo, issued the appointment letter of Barr. Ify Nwabudike as Acting Registrar.

When contacted on his mobile phone for reaction, the University’s image-maker, Edward Aihevba, said, ”Only one staff has been appointed as Acting Registrar, that is. Sir Eddy Ehiakhamen. The handover has been smoothly and successfully done.”
