The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.
According to a statement by the Council’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which was conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025, across the country.
The results were approved following the BECE Awards Committee meeting held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State. The meeting, chaired by Dr. (Mrs) Folake Olatunji David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, was attended by NECO officials and selected secondary school principals.
In the same statement, NECO disclosed that the resit examination for English Studies and Mathematics has been scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to timely result processing and continuous improvement of basic education assessment nationwide.
