Alhaji Mohammed Dan’Azumu, the recently re-appointed Chairman of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said the state is in need of more primary school teachers to boost the state’s education sector.

Dan’Azumi said this on Monday while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after his screening and confirmation by the state House of Assembly in Lafia.

He said that recruiting more primary school teachers would go a long way in improving on the standard of education in the state.

“His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule is up and doing in improving on the standard of education in the state.

“There is ongoing construction and renovation of schools across the state in order to create an enabling environment for learning and teaching.

“But one of the major challenges is inadequate teachers to teach pupils as teachers are retiring every time.

“We are making arrangement for the employment of primary schools teachers and we are expressing hope that His Excellency, our listening governor, will approve that by God’s grace.

“When the time comes, we will recruit only qualified teachers to teach in the interest of the education of our children and for the overall developmentof the state,” he said.
