The authorities of the Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike aka Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), have shifted the resumption of academic activities at the institution by one week as February 1, 2021 has been chosen as new date to resume classes.

EduCeleb.com gathered that the earlier date of 25th January, 2021 announced by the management two weeks ago will not be feasible hence the new date of 1st February, 2021 to restart physical academic activities on the campus.

Sources close to the Senate of the university said that a management meeting was held Monday but no official statement was given on the outcome, although students especially those living on the campus have been advised to return to Umudike campus at the weekend.

However, MOUAU authorities have remained silent on whether the entire university community will be fumigated like other campuses such as University of Calabar before academic activities resume in Umudike this weekend even as the returning students and staff are required to observe all the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) recommended health protocols including Physical Distancing and wearing of Face Masks.
