LAUTECH lecturer wins £182k international grant

A lecturer at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso has won two international grants totalling £182,442 both under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership.

Dr Islamiyat Folashade Bolarinwa who is also the deputy dean in the Faculty of Food and Consumer Sciences, won this in collaboration with some academics in the University of Leeds from Innovative UK.

Purpose of the first grant of £29,726 whose tenure runs between October 1,2022 and March 31, 2023, is to increase the availability of high protein foods and reduce Protein-energy malnutrition.

The second grant of £152,715, running for April 2023 to July 2024, is to serve the purpose of reducing post-harvest losses of food crops and increase food security.
