Kwara clears 35,709 applicants for teaching jobs

Kwara State government, has cleared 35,709 out of the 56,924 applicants for the State Universal Basic Education Board and Teaching Service Commission jobs in the state.

However, the state government plans to recruit only a total of 4,701 teachers for the two categories.

While a total of 22,953 applied for the Teaching Service Commission’s vacancies, 33,971 put in for the State UBEC jobs.

“Of the 56,924 total applicants, 35,709 have been, or being invited for the examination after a thorough online verification,” a statement in Ilorin, by the Press Secretary to the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development stated.

“This examination will be a computer-based test (CBT),” the statement added.

“The remaining 21, 215 applicants, were not shortlisted for the examination either for incomplete applications, incomplete results for not having credit passes in five subjects including English and Mathematics, or they applied for subject areas not advertised.”

The statement advised all applicants to visit the portal to know their status from Friday, 12 February, 2021.

The examination for applicants has been fixed for between Monday, February 22nd and 25th.

It added that, those who succeed in the examination are to have their interviews between March 8th, and March 20th, 2021, as each applicant will get a message to know the specifics of their examinations and interview.

The CBT examination, will take place in sixteen JAMB accredited centres across the state.
