Education advocate, Yinka Ogunde dies in London

Nigeria’s education community has been thrown into mourning following the death of renowned education advocate, business coach, and Chief Executive Officer of Edumark Consult, Mrs Olayinka Adejoke Ogunde, better known as Yinka Ogunde.

Mrs Ogunde passed away in London on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the Harley Street Clinic, according to a statement released by her family.

The family disclosed that she died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, describing her as a woman whose life was defined by service, compassion, and far-reaching impact.

In the statement, she was celebrated not only for her professional achievements but also for her transformative influence on individuals and institutions within and beyond the education sector.

“Mrs Olayinka Ogunde did not just lead, she shaped futures, opened doors and created opportunities. We celebrate a remarkable life whose impact will never fade,” the family said.

Widely respected as a certified leadership and business coach, Ogunde was known for her unwavering commitment to educational transformation, mentorship, and human capital development.

Through her work at Edumark Consult, she played a significant role in mentoring professionals, guiding organisations, and advocating reforms aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of education in Nigeria.
