The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted a widely circulated claim by a candidate, Olisa Gabriel Chukwuemeka, who alleged he was asked to resit the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) despite scoring 326. The board has confirmed that the claim was false and based on a doctored result slip.
The controversy began after Chukwuemeka, a 100-level student of Public Health at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, posted on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @swagpriest2. In the now-deleted post, he claimed that JAMB had scheduled him for a retake of the 2025 UTME despite his high score, sparking outrage and reinforcing narratives of system glitches.
His post, which included a forged text message and fabricated score, was amplified by popular blogs including Gistreel.com and Phoenix News, contributing to public confusion.

JAMB, in a statement released via its official handle on X, clarified:
“The social media is agog with a post by @swagpriest2 and posted by gistreel.com, phoenix news and other social media platforms of one Olisa Gabriel Chukwuemeka, a 100 Level 2024 matriculated student of Public Health at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.
Mr. Olisa has not only doctored his 2024 UTME result of 203 to 326 but has also falsely circulated it on social media as his 2025 UTME result in order to malign the Board.”

JAMB further clarified that Chukwuemeka’s actual 2025 UTME score — before withdrawal — was below 200, making him eligible for the rescheduled exam in line with standard policy for affected candidates.
“He sat the 2025 UTME in Lagos State and he is eligible to rewrite, hence the reschedule. Beware of misinformation,” the statement concluded.
Following the exposure, Chukwuemeka has reportedly deactivated his X account, as the truth behind his claims unraveled.
The board has reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the conduct of the UTME and warned the public against falling for false narratives meant to discredit its processes. JAMB also urged media platforms and social influencers to verify claims before amplifying them.
