President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Emmanuel Munakurogha Adigio, as the Vice-Chancellor of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko.
A statement from the Federal Ministry of Education signed by its spokesperson, Ben Goong revealed this.
Meanwhile, at a press briefing after receiving his appointment letter, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor said he will internationalise Maritime University by partnering with the University of Liverpool UK to fully establish Marine Engineering programme at his university.
Munakurogha Adigio also said one of his cardinal objectives is to move the University to its permanent site.
In a related development, the President also approved the appointment of Professor Stephen Agochi Okodudu as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt for a period of six months.
The acting appointment is also with effect from 13th July 2020.
