Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), is set to integrate 282 Qur’anic schools into the Zamfara Basic Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme with a view to ensure that every child has access to free education in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the public relations officer 2 of the board, Ibrahim Maizare on Tuesday.

In his statement made available to EduCeleb.com, he quoted the Zamfara SUBEB director of social mobilization, Yusuf Abubakar Mafara to have made the remarks at a two day training on monitoring and assessment of teaching tools for BESDA committee held at the Teacher Training Centre, Gusau.

Mafara noted that part of the BESDA effort of integrating the Quranic schools into the western system is to cover areas of recruitment of new teachers, provision of free uniforms, free feeding and teaching aids.

He charged those undergoing the training to be proactive in changing the narratives so that basic education system of the state can be transformed.

Earlier, the consultant of the BESDA programme, Ibrahim Sulaiman Gusau, emphasised the need for significant regular supervision of teachers as the basis that sustains the quality of teaching and learning in the public schools across the state.

“What differentiate public and private schools in terms of quality of teaching and learning is the regular supervision and monitoring by the government machineries. The effort of ZSUBEB in that regard under the present administration is justifiable,” he said.

Gusau tasked the entire BESDA committee in the state to remain persuasive and enhance the supervision and monitoring system of the newly BESDA programme for better result.
