The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has on Thursday directed all tertiary institutions to end admissions for the 2017/2018 academic session by 25th January, 2018.

It gave this instruction in a press statement signed by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin and received by EduCeleb.com.

Mr Benjamin said the board reached the conclusion at a meeting where all issues related to admission were taken into consideration. He said it was involved that all academic calendar should be adhered to.

“By implications, candidates who have gained admissions into various institutions and are yet to register or are yet to have admissions by January 25 should begin to make preparations for 2018 UTME.

“The public  must also note that the UTME results are only valid for only one year and not three years as widely speculated.

” If changes are made to the validity, I assure you the board would communicate appropriately to the public” he said.

EduCeleb.com recalls that JAMB had earlier issued a directive that admission for the 2017 UTME should close on 15th and 30th January for public and private tertiary institutions respectively.

DE Form already on sale

Benjamin also stated that the sale of form for Direct Entry is also ongoing and its sale ends at the same time as the 2018 UTME form sales.
