Vice-Chancellor at the University of Ibadan (UI), Idowu Olayinka, has given reasons behind the delayed release of the 2018/2019 first semester results.

He explained that this was due to a new results management system being put in place through the Information Technology and Media Services (ITeMS) Unit of the university.

While it would appear that some students were able to view their first semester results on their portal, quite a number continue to face challenges with that.

Olayinka, a professor of geology, said the results management system would foster a seamless process for subsequent compilation of students’ result.

In his words, “I have received messages from a of number undergraduate students inquiring about the non release of the First Semester Examination Results for the 2018/2019 Session.

“I wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused by non release of your First Semester Examination Results.

“We are developing a new Result Management System which offers a seamless process for compiling your transcripts of academic records. Unfortunately there have been some hitches which we are working on; hence the delay.

“As soon as this problem is fixed by the Information Technology and Media Services (ITeMS) Unit we shall convene meetings of the Faculty Board of Examiners and then Senate. Please bear with us”.
