UI VC satisfied with Post-UTME Screening exercise conduct

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Idowu Olayinka has expressed his delight over the hitch-free conduct of a two-day 2017/2018 Post-UTME screening exercise.

The exercise was for UTME candidates who chose the University of Ibadan as their first choice and scored 200 and above in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The VC, in his remarks, expressed his satisfaction at the performance of all stakeholders before and during the exercise.

He particularly commended the peaceful conduct of all candidates and their parents/guardians who were around at the examination centres for their decent conduct.

According to Olayinka, “It was a hitch-free exercise, for there was no report of any examination malpractice or distortion of the examination.”

A high rate of vehicular and human movement were experienced yesterday in the early hours, and indeed today. However the situation was well managed by the University Campus Security Service.

123 Centres used for UI Post-UTME

A total number of 123 centres spread across all Faculties and Centres with appropriate number of candidates assigned to each centre sat for the examination under strict UI examination condition.

In all the Centres visited yesterday and today, candidates were seen conducting themselves wisely and were checked into their respective halls/rooms without any distress.

It was also observed that both question papers and the answer sheets were customised to each candidate with individual bio-data appearing on it.

In all, the preparedness, of the University paid off with an outstanding and successful outcome of the exercise for the two days, yesterday and today.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Admissions (Undergraduate), led by Professor Fagbola and the Admissions Officer, Mrs Morenike Afolabi who painstakingly put in place all necessary logistics for the success of the screening exercise must be acknowledged.

On the entourage of the VC were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Ambrose Aiyelari; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Adeyinka Aderinto; Director of Special Duties, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Miracle Oyewola and the Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo.
