Former Ogun State Governor, Mr Gbenga Daniel and Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Professor Abayomi Arigbagbu would be joining stakeholders in the education sector on Wednesday, 25th November for the launch of an edtech solution named TAMS.

TAMS stands for Technology-Assisted Academic Management System, a multi-tenant cloud-based school management system with personalised platform for schools and education stakeholders.

This is a novel response to need to adopt technology to drive education and school system, especially in the post-COVID Nigeria.

The product is managed by Crownbirth, an Ogun State-based software development company.

According to Mr Ademola Adenubi who is the Chief Executive Officer of Crownbirth, TAMS is a user-friendly school management solution provider accessible to government, administrators, teachers, parents and students.

Adenubi noted that 95% of the schools in Nigeria are yet to be reached by leading digital school management system platforms and this is pointer to the gaps uncovered.

In his words, “With an average of 500 schools being served by each of the 10 leading school management solution providers in Nigeria, the market space is under-served by an approximate 95%.

“The wide geographical spread of Nigeria has also constrained most of the leading education solution providers to concentrate their market space in a state where they have competitive and comparative advantages, though with few presence in other states. Ogun State, being a leading state in education, with over 5,000 basic schools and over 10 tertiary education institutions is significantly un-served by any known major school management solution provider.

“There is, therefore, the need for a school management solution with better user-experience that drift stakeholders’ perception to technology adoption and encourage mutually-beneficial partnership that can extend the penetration to other markets to gain greater competitive and comparative advantage. The integrated self-boarding and agency approach to the TAMS platform is a unique business model that has potential to give TAMS greater market penetration and good returns for investment.”

Dignitaries expected to speak at the product launch include Dr Adefunke Ekine, the Deputy Director, Research and External Relations, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun; Mr Ajibade Laolu-Adewale, the Head of Partnership, Digital Solutions in Fintech at Wema Bank Plc and Mr Bosun Tijani, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Co-Creation Hub (CcHub).

The event holds on Wednesday, 25th November, 2020 at the Ball Room, Conference Hotel, Presidential Boulevard, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. Participants can also join its proceedings online from 9am when the event starts. To join the event, register via the organisers’ website.
