Sokoto varsity recalls 722 ex-students over results alternation

The Sokoto State State University has invited 722 of its graduated students to appear before an investigative panel set up by the school over allegations of results alteration.

This was contained in an announcement released by the investigation committee, which said the students were alleged to have connived with some staff of the ICT unit and have their results altered.

It was learnt that the issue originated from the pioneer set of 2013 where some of the students who couldn’t graduate as at when due because of deficiency in their results, confronted some ICT staff of the Universty and offered them bribes and have their results altered in return.

However, suspicion started when some students known among their colleagues to have numerous carryover courses at their final year ended up being cleared and went for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

This controversy brought about the involvement hierarchies within the school management establish the facts.

The shortlisted students are expected to appear before the panel latest 11th January this year.

Sokoto State University was founded in 2012 by the then Governor of Sokoto, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and it commenced academic activities in 2013 and graduated its first set in 2017.
