Nigeria launches national policy on science, technology education

The Federal Government has inaugurated the National Policy on the Implementation of Science and Technology Education and its implementation guidelines on how science and technology would be taught in schools.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono, the national policy would also highlight training of science and technology teachers across the country.

He was speaking in Abuja on Wednesday.

Echono said, “The National Policy on Science and Technology and its implementation guidelines outlines how science and technology would be taught.

“It also highlights pre-service and in-service training of teachers of science and technology, teacher demand and supply, provision of science infrastructures, workshops, equipment, textbooks and other resources in educational institutions.”
