The best graduating student at Lagos State University for the 2016/2017 academic session, Fuhad Adetoro Ogunsanya has revealed that he experienced failure long before excelling.

He was giving his speech on Wednesday at the University’s 22nd Convocation Ceremonies where he said that his first take of the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) dealt him enough blows of F9’s to inhibit him from his instant admission into tertiary institution.

Mr Ogunsanya, who graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.78, is from the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences.

He also narrated how cataract precluded his academic success at the SSCE level, and how he lost three years till he was eventually healed at the University College Hospital, Ibadan following months of several therapies.

In his words, “I suffered inferiority complex due to inherited cataract in one of my eyes.

“This defect went on till I reached secondary school. My WAEC and NECO results were well decorated with F9. After the scathing experience, my uncle and his wife went helter-skelter to find a permanent solution to this major defect.
