LASU student wins 2020 Don Etiebet Award for undergraduate project

Paul Wheto, a fresh graduate of the Lagos State University (LASU) has won the Don Etiebet Award for the best computer science undergraduate project in Lagos State.

Wheto’s award winning project was supervised by a former Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Benjamin Aribisala.

In a congratulatory letter signed on his behalf by the Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Mrs Anat Adesunkanmi, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olarenwaju Adigun Fagbohun, praised the award winner, Wheto, for his hardwork and dedication to academic excellence.

“This achievement is a reflection of your hardwork and dedication to academic excellence. By this feat, you have done the University proud and I assure you that you will be fully celebrated, ” the letter read.

The Vice Chancellor also commended the Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof Adenike Boyo, former Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Benjamin Aribisala and Head, Department of Computer Science, Dr Toyin Enikuomehin, for the achievement.

“The Vice Chancellor is impressed that your Faculty (and Department) have consistently produced winners of the prestigious Award since 2016 till date. This feat testifies to the quality of teaching and learning in your Faculty (and Department) and the University as a whole, and it also brings to the fore, the quality of your leadership”, the VC’s letter to the leadership of the Department and Faculty, read in part.
