LASU commences Acceptance Fee payment

The management of the Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of payment for the Acceptance Fee and the procedures to do so.

It is meant for candidates who had been offered provisional admission into LASU for the 2017/2018 academic session.

The payment, which costs twenty thousand naira (N20,000) would last between Friday, 15th December, 2017 and closes on Friday, 29th December, 2017.

According to information available on its website, “This is to inform the General Public and especially the Candidates offered Provisional Admission into the Lagos State University for the 2017/2018 Academic Session, that the University Management has announced the procedure and the amount payable as acceptance fee.

“Candidates are expected to pay a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of Twenty Thousand Naira (#20,000.00) only, using the approved payment mode on the University website www.lasu.edu.ng.”

The management warned candidates to beware of fraudsters.

No plans to increase school fees

The university clarified that it had no plans to increase its tuition.

In its official bulletin signed by Coordinator, LASU, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations Unit, Mr Ademola Adekoya.

He said that while the acceptance fee got increased from N10,000 to N20,000 but such increment does not reflect on the school fees.

“Attention of LASU Management has again been drawn to the erroneous insinuations making the rounds, especially on the social media, regarding a plan to increase or purported increase in the school fee being paid by its students presently.

“What the university has done is to increase the acceptance fee from N10,000 to N20,000 and this remains the cheapest in Nigeria compared to what other universities charge as their acceptance fee.

“The university management, however, wishes to reiterate that there is no increment in tuition, neither are there plans to effect any increment,” Adekoya said.

He urged members of the university community and the general public to disregard any contrary information and be wary of mischief makers trying to incite and create unnecessary tension in the university.
