Kaduna appoints Hassan Rilwan scholarship board chief

The Kaduna State Government has approved the appointment of Hassan Rilwan as the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board.

A statement from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House signed by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye said the appointment reflects Governor Malam Nasir el-Rufai’s continuing efforts to challenge and trust young people with leadership positions.

It reads thus, “Malam Nasir el-Rufai has approved the appointment of Hassan Rilwan as the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board.

“The appointment reflects the governor’s commitment to challenging young people with leadership positions, giving youths the opportunity to learn public service by doing it.

Born in 1982, Mr Rilwan has held various positions in the private sector.

He was the Group Managing Director at Focal Point Constructions Limited and acting Chairman, G17 Resources Limited, among others.

“Rilwan graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2005 with a first degree in Metallurgical Engineering.

“In 2013, he earned an MBA from Pan Atlantic University, Lagos. He has attended courses abroad, including at the Northwestern University, USA.

“He has a certificate in Transformational Leadership for 21st Century Africa from the Aga Khan University, Kenya 2018 and a certificate in Adaptive Leadership for Africa from Harvard University 2018.”

“Hassan Rilwan, an alumnus of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), is an Associate Fellow at the Nigerian Leadership Institute. He served in the Federal Government Ministerial Committee on the establishment of the Madrasah (Almajiri) Education System in 2009.”
