Invest more in your child’s education, Permanent Secretary urges parents

Parents have been advised to invest more in the education and well being of their children.

This advice was given by the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TGPS) of Education District II of Lagos State, Olusanya Ebenezer Abayomi during a courtesy visit by members of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Kosofe Area Council (MSSNKosofe) to his office recently.

Mr Abayomi said that parents’ commitment financially and morally to their children’s academic upbringing would make them to follow and monitor their progress.

The TGPS commended the efforts of the MSSNKosofe for its dedication and congratulated the organisation for the commemoration of MSS Week 1439/2018.

EduCeleb.com reports that among the activities during the MSS Week was a Quiz Competition for secondary schools called the Annual Justice Sahid Schools’ Challenge (JSSC).

The competition was divided into two categories for both the junior and senior secondary schools, in which Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Senior High School and Tolulope Schools emerged winners in the senior and junior categories respectively.

Abayomi pledged the support of Education District II for all the events of the Annual week long programme saying that it would bring about healthy rivalry among students in the District and motivate them to attain the best in their academics.

He decried incidences of drug abuse among youths while advising youths to shun drug and substances, especially codeine.

The educational administrator also charged youths to dedicate their lives to excellence and societal progress.

In his comment, the leader of the delegation and Amir (President) of MSSN Kosofe Area Council, AbdulHafeez Tolulope Animashaun commended the TGPS for his innovative ideas aimed at improving education in the District.

Mr Animashaun who is also an educator charged him to do more for the betterment of the education of the district and Lagos as a whole.

Other members of the delegation were the Amir of MSSN Agboyi-Ketu Area Council, Mr Saheed Jimoh, Amir of MSSN Alapere Central Branch, Mr Lukman AbdulKareem, Secretary of MSSNKosofe, Mr AbdulHafeez Odusanya, Amirah (Female President) of MSSNKosofe, Ms Rahmah Olaoluwa and her deputy, Ms Lateefah Ibrahim.
