The International School, University of Ibadan (ISI) was on Monday shut again over the brewing hijab crisis in the school.

Although, no official reason had been given for the closure, it is not unconnected to protests against the school’s management decision to disallow hijab wearing students from entering the school.

Since the past two weeks, the 55-year old  school has been in the news over the insistence of its management through the school principal, Mrs Phebean Olowe to exclude the school girls from academic activities for using the Muslim head covering.

A notice EduCeleb.com sighted at the school entrance reads thus:

“The International School, University of Ibadan has been closed down until further notice. Please, take note.”

Consequently, the school may remain shut till further notice to ward off a any crisis.

The ISI was established in 1963 and is owned by the University of Ibadan, which recently marked its 70th anniversary.
