FUNAAB produces 203 First Class graduates in three years

As the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) holds its 23rd, 24th and 25th Convocation Ceremonies for the 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 academic sessions, respectively, EduCeleb.com has learnt that it produced a total of 203 First class graduates throughout the periods.

The University’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Ololade Enikuomehin disclosed this on Monday at a press conference held as part of activities for the ceremonies in Abeokuta.

A breakdown of the figure shows that 71, 75 and 57 were produced in 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 sessions respectively. These are from the total 1881, 2731 and 3065 graduates respectively produced within the periods.

The university’s postgraduate school produced a total of 1,442 graduates in its PhD, Master’s and postgraduate diploma programmes.

The Award of First Degrees For 2013/2014 & 2015 will hold on Friday, 20th October, 2017 while that of the 2015/2016 products and the Award of Postgraduate and Honorary Degrees hold on Saturday, 21st October, 2017.

Installation of Chancellor

A major part of the ceremonies is the installation of His Royal Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi-Otu (V), the Obong of Calabar as the university’s Chancellor.

During the Ceremonies, the Chancellor will also be conferred with the Doctor of Science Degree (Honoris Causa).

Save the dates

Other line up events for the ceremonies are a Jumat Service and an Interdenominational Church Service, already held.

Others are a Research and Agricultural Fair holding on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Convocation Lecture titled, “Food and the Future”, would be delivered by the nation’s Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief (Dr.) Audu Ogbeh, on Thursday, 19th October, 2017.

Information made available at the university’s Directorate of Public Relations indicate that only graduates, who are cleared by their Colleges, Postgraduate School, Bursary and the University Library and who have paid the prescribed fees, will be eligible to collect their certificates.
