Federal School of Surveying appoints new Registrar, Bursar

The Governing Council of the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, under the chairmanship of Surveyor–General of the Federation, Surv. Taiwo Samuel Adeniran (fnis) has approved the appointment of Mr Oyedele Oyekola Olutayo, as the substantive Registrar of the institution.

The council also approved the appointment of Mrs Akintunde Omoniyi as Bursar of the school.

According to a statement emanated from Rector’s office and signed by the acting Public Relations Officer, Hamzat Mayowa , the council took the decision at its 57th regular meeting held recently.

The statement revealed further that the new Registrar, Oyedele, a member of Chartered Institute of Administration, studied Public Administration at Masters level at the University of Ilorin, before he joined the institution as a personnel officer in 1993.

He had worked in various positions in the institution before his new appointment as Registrar of the school.

Similarly, the new Bursar, Mrs Akintunde, a graduate of Accounting Education and member of the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) joined the service of the institution in 1992, worked in various unit in the bursary department before her appointment as the Bursar of the school recently.

Speaking on the progress of the school, the Rector of the institution, Dr (Mrs) Nihinlola Olayinka – Dosumu declared that the school has witnessed a rapid development within the short time her administration assumed office few years ago.

According to her, with the approval of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for additional carrying capacity and accreditation of new courses, the school has commenced admissions into the existing and newly approved courses through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board for year 2020/2021 academic session.

The new courses, she said, included: National Diploma in Computer Science; National Diploma in Cartography and GIS; National Diploma in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.

While she commended all the stakeholders of the institution for their untiring efforts in uplifting the status of the school, she reiterated that all hands must be deck to ensure the school maintains its relevance in the academic and skill development within the school’s professional specializations.
